The GX7100e series is a 14 slot modular PXIe chassis that can accommodate a 3U PXI embedded controller or an MXI express controller, as well as 3U&6U PXI/PXIe instruments in a 4U rack space. The unique format of GX7100e includes 7 6U slots and 7 3U slots arranged horizontally to reduce the overall size of the chassis, providing versatility and high density to meet many PXI/PXIe applications and requirements. The backplane architecture supports Gen 2, 4x4 PCI Express bus signal transmission and the use of either x1 or x4 system controllers. Thanks to a combination of PXI-1, hybrid, and Express slots, the GX7100e provides users with ultimate flexibility, suitable for various purposes, and meets high bandwidth testing needs.

The GX7100e series offers a full range of features and options, including an innovative forced air cooling system controlled by 8 20 CFM fans with built-in temperature sensors. The fan provides airflow according to PXI version 2.1 specifications. This cooling configuration provides optimal cooling for the chassis, regardless of the type and quantity of instruments used. In addition, it also provides cooling for the system power supply.

The GX7100e smart chassis supports monitoring internal chassis temperature and system power supply voltage, as well as providing programmable or mapped triggering lines for each PXI from one PCI segment to another. In addition, users can program temperature monitoring functions to specify alarm and shutdown limits. All user specified settings can be saved in non-volatile memory for user configuration and can be used as default settings for normal chassis operation.

For applications that require large-scale interconnection and cable routing to/from the back of the chassis, the GX7100e series provides an ideal system solution. These chassis include an integrated 2U cable tray, a hinged front panel capable of accommodating all common large-scale interconnected devices, optional openings at the top and bottom of the chassis for cable routing, and recessed PXI instruments (2.5 "or 5" recessed). The combination of the front panel and embedded instruments provides up to 8 "of space for interface wiring.

The GX7100e series offers a system power of 650W and is compatible with the PXI hardware specification PXI-5, Rev. 2.0。

Slot 1 (3U) is dedicated to system controllers (embedded or remote, using PXIe bus extenders). Slot 2 can be used for PXIe or cPCIe peripherals. Slot 3 and 4 support 3U PXI-1 peripherals, while slots 5-7 support 3U PXI hybrid slot compatible peripherals. Slot 8-14 supports 6U hybrid slot compatible peripherals.

software

The chassis is equipped with GxChassis software, which includes software libraries, drivers, programming examples, virtual panel applications, and documentation. The virtual panel can control, configure, and display various functions of the smart chassis, including temperature monitoring, triggering circuit mapping, and power supply voltage monitoring. The 32/64 bit Windows DLL driver provides various interface files for programming tools and languages such as ATEasy LabView、C/C++、Microsoft VisualBasic ®、 Delphi and others access DLL functions. The user guide provides documentation including installation, usage, and chassis programming instructions. Using a separate software package (GtLinux), the chassis can support Linux systems.
