Principle of lead acetate paper tape detection: Hydrogen sulfide reacts chemically with lead acetate to generate PbS, which colors the paper tape (brown). The hydrogen sulfide content is directly proportional to the rate of color change on the lead acetate paper tape. This detection method is currently the most reliable method for measuring the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in process gas.
