The accelerometer force balance accelerometer Columbia SA100MR provides excellent performance in force balance technology and flexibility in multiple operating ranges for DC and low-frequency measurements. The accelerometer is independent and provides a high-level, low impedance output. In most applications, signal conditioning is not required. To order an accelerometer, the complete range of SA-100MR must be specified. Then the range can be adjusted from 0.05 to 1 times the entire range through an external resistor. The selected range always corresponds to an output of ± 7.5 volts. The background noise remains constant and does not increase with the increase of the scaling factor, thus achieving the best signal-to-noise ratio within any selected range.
working principle:
The force balance accelerometer has a classical critical damping and second-order frequency response. There is no peak in the response, only a smooth roll off above the natural frequency. This feature, along with the excellent design of the "HP" torque generator, makes the Columbia accelerometer the best choice for high demand applications for precise DC and near DC measurements in harsh impact and broadband vibration environments. Columbia force balance accelerometers can be used for almost all applications. Low noise, high output components can be used for seismic structural motion research, while miniature, high range versions are more suitable for the more intense high-G environments encountered in many industrial, aircraft, and missile applications.
