Acoustic release device
Acoustic release device
Product details

ARC-1XD acoustic release device adopts instantaneous current dissolution technology, which only requires one component to move and can achieve rapid release. It has an ultra long underwater lifespan and is the best choice for underwater equipment deployment and recovery. The setting and application of the release device are very simple, providing real-time status feedback to the operator, and applying a fast action mechanism to reliably retrieve your research equipment.

Application:

Mainly used for recycling underwater scientific instruments, such as underwater acoustic recorders, acoustic emission receivers, etc.

The ARC-1XD acoustic release device is an ideal device for releasing sound waves such as Vemco acoustic emission receivers and C-POD acoustic detectors.

Remote release of fishing, lobster and crab cage buoy recycling. In New South Wales, Australia, fishermen use a large number of ARC-1XD acoustic release devices to release and retrieve shrimp cages from crayfish. The use of a release device ensures that the shrimp cage is placed on the seabed without damage and can be easily retrieved at any time.

Remote triggering or operation of any underwater mechanical device.

Release mechanism:

The ARC-1XD release mechanism is based on the vaporization of nickel chromium release lines caused by very high instantaneous currents. The nickel chromium wire is tied to two sturdy fixed posts to keep the horizontal release lever in the closed state. After the nickel chromium wire evaporates, the release rod is no longer bound and bounces up by buoyancy, in a released state. The underwater instrument floats to the surface under the buoyancy of the float, completing the release process.

This release mechanism is very rapid. Usually, the release action is completed in just a few seconds from issuing the command to triggering the release. The evaporation of nickel chromium wire may last for several thousandths of a second. The rapid release mechanism ensures that researchers can recycle devices from multiple sites within a day. This release method is much faster compared to the electrolytic corrosion release mechanism, which may require a release time of 5 to 30 minutes.
