The working principle of a belt filter press is to feed the water containing sludge into the filter belt of the belt filter press through a hopper, and then feed it into a roller through the filter belt. The water in the sludge is squeezed out to form a mud cake by the squeezing of the filter belt and roller.
The steps of a belt filter press are specifically divided into four stages: pretreatment, gravity dewatering, preloading dewatering, and roll dewatering
1. Pre treatment: Utilize gravity settling to concentrate the original sludge, increase concentration, and reduce volume. Mix the sludge with polymer flocculants, agglomerate into flocs, and precipitate into sludge to prepare the conditions for the next dewatering step of the filter press.
2. Gravity dewatering: The sludge that has undergone coagulation pretreatment is sent to the filter belt of a belt filter press. Under the action of gravity, free water outside the flocs is filtered out from the filter belt, further reducing the moisture content of the sludge.
3. Wedge pre pressure dewatering: After gravity dewatering, the sludge has basically lost its fluidity after pre pressure dewatering in the wedge section, ensuring the dewatering of the sludge in the pressing dewatering section.
4. Roll dewatering: The multiple roller shafts of the belt filter press are arranged reasonably, and the sludge is repeatedly squeezed and sheared to gradually reduce its moisture content. After being squeezed by the precision roller, a block shaped sludge cake with extremely low moisture content is finally formed, which is automatically discharged at the discharge port.
