Bike BYK Bubble Viscometer
1、 Product Introduction:
The BYK Gardner bubble viscometer is used to quickly measure the kinematic viscosity of known fluids such as resins and varnishes.
1. The liquid standard is sealed inside the glass tube
2. Shelf life of 15 years
3. The sample glass tube is easy to clean quickly
4. The glass tube does not have a spout, so there will be no blockage or incorrect measurement
5. Under temperature control, it is easy to obtain readings with good reproducibility
The time required for bubbles to rise is directly proportional to the viscosity of the fluid. The faster the bubble rises, the lower the viscosity of the liquid. The BYK Gardner bubble viscometer is divided into four groups, arranged from A5 to Z10 according to the letters on the glass tube, with viscosities ranging from 0.05 to 1000 Stokes.
2、 Standard:
1 AOC:Method Ka 6-63
2 ASTM:D1131 , D1545 , D1725
3 FTMS:141a Method 4272
3、 Operation steps:
1. Knowing the approximate viscosity value, select four standard glass tubes that are closest in viscosity to the sample
2. Fill the sample glass tube with fluid, insert a cork stopper, and use a test tube holder (model 0577) to insert the four glass tubes labeled with letters and the sample glass tube into the test tube holder
3. Reverse the test tube rack and visually compare which glass tube labeled with a letter has the closest bubble rise time to the sample glass tube
4. A timer can be used to measure the second rate of bubble rise in sealed glass tubes and sample glass tubes
Note that the following factors will affect accuracy when conducting experiments:
Temperature change of 1 ℃=10% error
Verticality control: 5 ° tilt=10% error
Inner diameter control of glass tube 0.1mm=2% error
