The polishing machine is mainly composed of a hopper, polishing cylinder, sealing cylinder, brush, coupling, split bearing seat, motor, distribution box, waste removal head, discharge hopper, and frame.

The working principle of capsule polishing machine:

The working principle of this machine is to drive the capsule to make a circular spiral motion along the polishing tube wall through the rotational motion of the brush, so that the capsule advances along the spiral spring. Under the continuous friction between the brush and the polishing tube wall, the outer surface of the capsule shell is polished, and the polished capsule enters the waste hopper from the discharge port. In the waste remover, due to the negative pressure, the lightweight unqualified capsules rise under the action of airflow and enter the vacuum cleaner through a straw. The heavier qualified capsules continue to fall and are discharged through the movable discharge hopper, achieving the purpose of polishing and waste removal in a timely manner. The powder and small fragments that are brushed off during the polishing process enter the sealed cylinder through the small holes on the polishing cylinder wall and are sucked into the vacuum cleaner for recycling.

The polishing and conveying process of this machine is a closed structure, and the parts that come into contact with the drug are made of stainless steel corrosion-resistant materials, which are easy to disassemble and clean, and comply with the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) implementation guidelines for pharmaceutical equipment.

The adjustable speed type adopts microcomputer control and implements stepless speed regulation, which can meet the polishing speed requirements of different drugs such as capsules, sugar coated tablets, and plain tablets. The spindle tilt angle can be adjusted arbitrarily within a certain range to meet the polishing time requirements of different drugs. The non adjustable speed type operates at a fixed speed. The machine base is equipped with mobile casters that can place the machine in different work locations.

Usage and adjustment of capsule polishing machine:

1. Machine installation requirements: This machine can be used on any flat ground and only requires a single-phase three pin socket (220V).

2. After the machine is placed and stopped, connect the power supply and place the feeder below the discharge port. Then turn on the machine and idle it (press the RUN/STOP button to turn on the vacuum cleaner switch). Pay attention to the working condition of the main vacuum cleaner and test the speed regulation performance.

3. Connect the power supply of the industrial vacuum cleaner and polishing machine, and adjust the speed of the polishing machine. Test the machine with a small amount of waste shell capsules and adjust the negative pressure air intake of the waste remover so that it can effectively remove empty shell fragments. If the negative pressure intake is too high, it may be able to remove the good capsules, but if it is too small, it will not have a waste removal effect. The exhaust air volume is adjusted on the regulating plate at the inlet of the industrial vacuum cleaner, and the exhaust situation can be observed from the observation plate in front of the exhaust cleaner. The air volume of the suction tube for removing medicinal powder is also adjusted on the industrial vacuum cleaner control panel.

4. Clean the polishing machine and industrial vacuum cleaner promptly after each shift is completed. When necessary, industrial vacuum cleaners should also be cleaned during work.
5. Adjustment method:
(1) Polishing machine speed regulation: organized by an electronic speed controller. For fragile capsules, the rotational speed can be appropriately low, otherwise it can be adjusted appropriately high. When used for polishing tablets, the rotational speed can be appropriately reduced.

(2) Tilt adjustment of polishing cylinder: The tilt angle is adjusted by the tail support plate. A large tilt angle has good polishing effect, while a small tilt angle has high production efficiency.
(3) Industrial vacuum cleaner adjustment: Professional industrial vacuum cleaners have two sets of dust cleaning tube devices, each with a suction air volume adjustment plate, and the air volume is adjusted according to the usage situation.

(4) Polishing time adjustment: Adjust the tilt angle of the frame and change the height difference between the discharge port and the feed port to change the residence time of the drug in the polishing machine. The larger the tilt angle, the longer the polishing time, and vice versa. When adjusting, first firmly hold the rear section of the rack to prevent the bracket from losing balance and damaging the rack after loosening the locking screws. Adjust the tilt angle of the rack and tighten the locking screws again. After a batch of drugs is produced, it needs to idle for 2 minutes until the dust in the conveying pipe is wiped clean before polishing different drugs.
