A chiseling machine is a tool similar to a 'chopping axe' that processes the completed main structural surface to ensure a firm bond between the two construction stages. Usually, chiseling machines are used in cast-in-place concrete structures. After the cast-in-place slab is poured, chiseling is carried out to pour the next layer and make the concrete bond firmly. So the "chiseling machine" is generally also known as the "concrete chiseling machine".

The performance characteristics of the chiseling machine mainly include the following three points

1. The chiseling machine is usually supported by an excavator and a specially designed truss, which can chisel the working surface at any angle. Easy installation, convenient operation, and minimal maintenance.

The hourly chiseling area can reach 30-100 square meters according to different concrete strengths, while reducing damage to the foundation. 3. The chiseling machine is applied to reinforce various buildings such as reservoirs, dam leaks, dangerous bridges, power plants, highways, high-speed railways, tunnels and culverts, and chiseling in various ways.

Application scope of chiseling machine

1. The waterproof treatment of the bridge deck surface is chiseled.
2. The waterproof treatment and chiseling of the beam surface of high-speed railway box girders (prefabricated beams).
3. Concrete chiseling on the bridge side, bridge end face, beam side, and beam end face.
4. Remove ground coatings, paint, and various traffic markings.
5. Clean and remove airport road markings, runway tire brake marks, etc., to regain a rough surface with high friction coefficient.
6. Surface treatment of cement asphalt pavement, highway bridge deck, bridge misalignment, epoxy resin wear-resistant ground, etc.
7. Construction at the micro surface of the road, chiseling and removing the existing old pavement surface layer to prepare for slurry sealing

Application and development of chiseling machine

The traditional chiseling method of mechanical chiseling machines is to use a sharp striking tool to strike the surface of concrete with a piston, making the new and old concrete bond firmly. However, traditional chiseling methods have various drawbacks, such as low efficiency, mechanical oscillation force causing sound wave transmission, damaging the chiseling body and affecting its service life.
At present, for small-scale chiseling (local chiseling, facade chiseling, side chiseling, top chiseling), handheld small chiseling machines can be used with good results and will not cause damage to the original structure.
