It is mainly used to test the performance of hearing protection devices, such as earplugs and earmuffs (in ear and ring ear), but can also be used to test sound sources, such as headphones and headsets.It is equipped with a microphone or ear simulator, depending on the device to be tested and the standards to be followed.
Following ISO 4869-3, IEC 60318-1, and IEC 60318-4 ensures repeatability and transparency of data for technicians, decision-makers, and institutions in the development and validation of hearing protectors.
The 45CA earrings are the same as the standard KEMAR earrings, but rounded to fit the large 45CA base plate.This large bottom plate reduces or eliminates the risk of leakage.
The 45CA includes two plugs for measuring sound isolation in closed ears.

This configuration complies with IEC 60318-1. RA0039 cannot be used in conjunction with the Pinna simulator, therefore it cannot be used for measuring in ear headphones.

This configuration complies with IEC 60318-1 and is used to measure the insertion loss of earring type hearing protectors and the sound quality of headphones. RA0039 cannot be used with the Pinna simulator, therefore it cannot be used for measuring in ear headphones.
