overview

The GX5296 offers the highest performance and features of any 3U PXI dynamic digital I/O board currently on the market. The 32 channel GX5296 provides per pin timing, multiple time settings, data formatting, and advanced sequencers - providing users with the ability to simulate and test complex digital buses for system, board, or device testing applications. GX5296 provides 1 ns edge placement resolution and PMU for each pin, and can perform DC and AC parameter testing. Each digital channel can be individually programmed as a driver, driver, sensing signal, sensing current, and load value (with commutation voltage level). In addition, each channel provides a parameter measurement unit (PMU), providing users with the ability to perform parallel DC measurements on the DUT (device under test).

GX5296 supports deep mode memory, providing 64 MB of onboard vector memory for each pin, dynamically controlling the direction of each pin, and testing speeds up to 125 MHz. This board supports incentive/response and real-time comparison operation modes, allowing users to maximize test throughput for uninterrupted testing of components and UUTs that require deep memory testing modes. Single board design supports master and slave functions without the need for additional modules.

characteristic

The timing generator of GX5296 supports 4 timing stages and windows (driving and sensing timing). Each stage and window consists of two temporal edges: assert/de assert and open window/close window, respectively. Each edge supports a temporal resolution of 1ns. Four time periods can be used to map edge timing to each channel.

Up to 64 unique combinations of time sets can be defined. In addition, it supports six data formats: NR (no return), R0, R1, RHiZ and RC (return to complement), RSC (loopback with complement).

The pin electronic resources are independent on a channel by channel basis and include a fully functional PMU for DC characterization of the DUT. PMU can operate in forced voltage/measured current or forced current/measured voltage mode. In addition, four additional pin electronic resources can be used as timing and/or control resources - providing programmable driving and sensing levels from -2 to+7 volts.

GX5296 adopts a PLL based clock system, which can provide programmable vector clock rates up to 125 MHz. In addition, each mode (CPP) divider is available, providing additional clock and edge placement flexibility. It also supports external input and output synchronization signals, which can synchronize GX5296 to external events or time bases.

GX5296's full-featured sequencer. Abilities include conditional jumps, unconditional jumps, subroutine jumps, or loops (using nested loops). In addition, the sequencer can handshake with various signals to synchronize with UUT. Handshake settings can be selected based on each step, where various handshakes can be used to pause and restore resources. The memory size of the total sequencer is 4096 steps.

software

GX5296 provides graphic vector development/waveform display tools as well as virtual instrument panels, 32/64 bit DLL driver libraries, and documentation. Virtual panels can be used to interactively control and monitor instruments from a window that displays their current settings and status. In addition, various interface files can access the instrument's functional library for programming tools and languages such as ATEasy, C / C ++,Microsoft VisualBasic ®, Delphi and LabVIEW.
