T-maze The T-maze is mainly used to evaluate spatial learning performance. Animals select previously visited arms through memory or choose a reward arm. Simple T-shaped design, combined with a choice point of only two options.

Y-maze The Y-maze is similar to the T-maze, except it has three identical arms. The slow turns in the Y maze can reduce learning time compared to the sharp turns in the T maze. |

8-arm maze The 8-arm maze (radial arm maze) is widely used for spatial learning and memory. The device consists of 8 (or 12) equally spaced arms, distributed radially from a central circular platform. This design ensures that rats must return to the central platform for another selection after searching for food at the end of their arms. Rats have 8 (or 12) options. |
