The instrument consists of two smooth parallel ironing plates: the upper ironing plate heats and applies a pressure of approximately 4 kPa on the sample. The test can be set at different temperatures and conducted in the following three ways.

The temperature can be set based on the fiber composition of the test sample (minimum maximum temperature: 70-200 ℃).
