Based on the long experience in genomics and clinical diagnosis in the past
Tecan has extensive experience and knowledge in the pre-treatment and preparation of biological samples, and has tailored a new workstation for the field of biological sample libraries to meet the special needs of this field.
The Tecan body fluid sample pre-processing workstation can automatically complete the following tasks:
1. Sample reception and identification
The system automatically scans the samples with 1D or 2D barcodes and transmits the sample information to the LIS/LIMS system or creates its own sample list.
2. Online centrifugation (optional)
The centrifuge integrated into the system can achieve fully automatic loading, balancing, and centrifugation of samples. You can set the centrifugation time, temperature, and speed according to the specific needs of sample processing.
3. Automatic lid opening (optional)
4. Sample packaging
By using a single or multi-channel pipetting robotic arm with functions such as liquid level detection and clot detection, samples can be dispensed into test tubes, centrifuge tubes, or microplates, ensuring unparalleled high sampling accuracy.
5. Information management
The system can automatically record operational data such as volume, concentration, time, and location during sample processing, and can export it in multiple data formats, achieving seamless connection with LIMS/HIS and other sample management systems.
Separation of whole blood components
Tecan's unique inter component interface detection module (TIU) can automatically detect the layering interface (serum, white blood cells, or red blood cells) or separation gel layering interface of centrifuged blood samples, and calculate the actual volume of samples available for packaging based on this.
The powerful features of the TIU module include:
1. Infrared can penetrate three layers of labels for detection, without worrying about the influence of pipe wall labels or ambient light
2. Complete precise detection within 15 seconds to ensure the accuracy of the sample layering interface and the volume of each component
3. The robotic arm can automatically rotate the test tube to achieve the best detection results
After positioning and layering through the TIU module, the buffy coat separation program can control the robotic arm to gradually suck up the buffy coat in a rotating path, which improves the recovery efficiency by nearly twice compared to the traditional direct suction method, and the white blood cell recovery rate can reach 95%.
Extraction of large volume whole blood cells
Tecan Freedom EVO ® Workstation and ReliaProp ™ The combination of LV 32 provides a high-throughput large volume whole blood extraction solution based on magnetic bead separation.
A ReliaProp ™ The module can process 32 samples at once, greatly improving experimental throughput. The maximum sample processing volume can reach 10ml and the cost of consumables is low.
The system can automatically complete the following experimental process:

Tissue RNA Extraction
Tecan Freedom EVO ® The workstation can perform automated RNA extraction of various tissue lysates. Whether it's the magnetic bead method or the silica gel column method, the Tecan workstation is capable of handling both. The workstation can be equipped with centrifuges, various magnetic racks, and vacuum filtration modules, allowing you to flexibly combine your own experimental processes.
Staining of organizational samples
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a widely used technique for diagnosing human diseases and is a routine testing method in hospital pathology departments.
The GenePaint platform based on Flow through technology can automate IHC, ISH, and FISH operations for processing cell and tissue sections.
Freedom EVO ® The liquid processing workstation can automate the GenePaint module. According to the size of the workstation, it can process up to 192 slices.
Te Flow of GenePaint System ™ The module can accommodate standard 25 x 75 mm glass slides, requiring only 90 μ l of reagent per slice to achieve excellent experimental results. Each Te flow module can accommodate up to 48 slices. Most IHC operation steps can be automated, including slice pretreatment, antibody dropwise addition, incubation, cleaning, and color development.
