The detection principle of the thermal conductivity cell detector is based on the different thermal conductivity coefficients between different components and the carrier gas. When the thermal conductivity cell is detected, the carrier gas is connected and the cell body is kept at a constant temperature. At this time, the composition and flow rate of the carrier gas flowing through are stable. The current flowing through the thermistor (rhenium tungsten wire resistor) is also stable, and the bridge composed of the thermistor is in equilibrium. When the components separated by the chromatographic column are carried into the thermal conductivity cell by the carrier gas, due to the different thermal conductivity between the components and the carrier gas, the temperature of the thermistor changes and the resistance changes, resulting in an unbalanced bridge and an output voltage signal. The magnitude of this signal is a function of the concentration of the measured component, which is then converted and recorded by a recorder or chromatographic data processor.
