The gold enrichment trap of the mercury analyzer utilizes the strong adsorption between mercury and gold at room temperature to capture total gaseous mercury in the atmospheric environment(TGM)。 The sample gas containing gaseous mercury is introduced into the gold trap, and the sample passes through the gold trap while mercury is adsorbed by the gold. After the mercury enrichment is completed, the gold trap is rapidly heated, and mercury is released by thermal desorption. Gaseous mercury is introduced into an optical sample cell by a clean mercury free gas stream and detected by atomic absorption spectroscopy.
