Mineral oil, especially polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, in water can cause water pollution and affect the growth of aquatic animals and plants. It is a necessary measure for surface water and wastewater discharge from multiple industries.
At present, the commonly used standard infrared spectrophotometry method (HJ637-2012) for oil detection in water in China requires the use of carbon tetrachloride as an extractant, which is highly toxic to the human body and seriously pollutes the environment, limiting the use of oil detection in water. The US Environmental Protection Agency's EPA Method 1664 recommends n-hexane, and China's Ministry of Environmental Protection has also initiated a project to revise existing standards.
The HM-900 portable water oil analyzer adopts ultraviolet fluorescence detection technology with high sensitivity. It is powered by a battery and can detect the concentration of oil in water, making it easy to use quickly on site.
Pyxis Lab's pre fabricated reagent tubes for oil in water accurately quantify specialized non-toxic, non corrosive, and non flammable extractants. Users do not need to carry other extractants or perform volumetric operations when measuring on site. They can use a pipette to take samples and inject them into pre made reagent tubes, shake them evenly, and then perform testing. It is simple and convenient, and the results can be obtained in five minutes. Disposable prefabricated pipes eliminate problems such as cross contamination caused by poor cleaning.
Typical applications:
Surface water such as Rivers and Lakes, environmental monitoring, industrial sewage, waste water, condensate, circulating water detection, pipeline oil leakage and oil content determination in soil in petrochemical, thermal power plants, steel manufacturing and other industries.
Instrument features:
- Unique pre-set reagent tubes and specialized non-toxic and harmless extractants greatly simplify the operation;
- N-hexane can be used as an extractant, combined with high-quality detection bottles to reduce detection costs;
- High precision and high reproducibility, with excellent correlation with infrared methods;
- Automatic dual channel detection technology, up to 1000 ppm concentration measurement without dilution or preheating, ready to use upon startup, equipped with a portable detection box, easy to operate in the field;
- Can store 8GB of test data (including test time), and can also be transmitted to a mobile phone or computer via Bluetooth for data analysis;
- Bluetooth communication: Use Pyxis's uPyxis to define standard curves and view historical data or perform data analysis on mobile phones or computers.
