The disadvantage is that the BE voltage of different types of pipes is not a fixed value, and even for the same model, there are some individual differences. At the same time, there will be some fluctuations in this voltage under different operating currents. Therefore, it is not suitable for precise constant current requirements.
In order to accurately output current, an operational amplifier is usually used as feedback, while a field-effect transistor is used to avoid errors caused by the BE current of the transistor. If the current does not need to be particularly precise, the field-effect transistor can also be replaced with a transistor.
