4、 Operating principle
1. H2S+Pb (C2H3O2) 2 → PbS+2C2H4O2
2. Lead sulfide (PbS) forms brown spots on lead acetate paper tape
3. The rate of color spot formation is directly proportional to the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in the monitored gas.
4. Monitor the formation rate of color spots through a photodiode detector.
5. Lead acetate 100% fully responds to H2S (with no known interfering species)
5、 Response time
1. For some applications, response time is crucial for handling abnormal situations.
2. Predictive Alert Analysis (PAA) for rapid response to process disturbances in critical applications
Predictive Alarm Analysis (PAA)
1. DV/dt is continuously monitored by analytical instruments
2. When the dV/dt * gain exceeds the preset alarm concentration, regardless of the analysis cycle situation, the analysis instrument immediately alarms
3. The alarm concentration used for PAA is HighHigh alarm
6、 Total sulfur options
1. All sulfur-containing compounds react with hydrogen at high temperatures to convert into H2S
2. Conversion of hydrocarbons into methane
3. For example, the reaction of ethyl mercaptan CH3 SH+H2 → CH4+H2S
7、 H2 Throttle - Optional
1. When the analyzer analyzes H2S, hydrogen gas is not required, so the analyzer uses an electromagnetic valve to close the hydrogen gas flow
2. Reduce the usage of H2
8、 Low H2 Alarm - Optional
1. Pressure sensor monitors hydrogen pressure
2. If the hydrogen pressure drops below 5 psi (0.34 bar), the total sulfur solenoid valve will automatically close and the analyzer will switch to only analyze H2S mode
3. Reduce coking in the total sulfur oven
9、 Sample gas pretreatment
1. Sample gas pressure: 0.68 ~ 1.36 bar.
2. Sample gas flow rate: 2.0 (100 cm3/min)
3. The sample gas must be clean and dry - the sample temperature must exceed the dew point of water and hydrocarbons in the sample gas
4. GALVANIC can provide suitable sampling systems that meet customer requirements
Calibration gas:
1. For calibration, the PROTECH903 analyzer requires the use of hydrogen sulfide with certified standards and known concentrations (typically in a nitrogen background).
2. Calibration gases can also be used for verification and troubleshooting.
3. The concentration of hydrogen sulfide in the calibration gas should be 75% of the analyzer's full range, or a specific important concentration close to the monitoring purpose.
4. The calibration gas has a known service life and should not exceed its expiration date when used.
5. H2S and other sulfur compounds have strong reactivity.
6. Calibration can be performed manually or automatically, depending on the specific configuration of the analyzer.
10、 Maintenance of analyzer
Change the paper tape every time (approximately 4-6 weeks)
1. Clean the sample room and ensure that there is no dust accumulation (to prevent sensor current alarms)
2. Fill the humidifier with acetic acid liquid
3. Ensure normal pressure and flow rate
4. Ensure that the ventilation duct is unobstructed and the injector is working properly
5. Calibrate the analyzer and verify the results
Maintenance of analyzer
1. Replace the paper tape every two to three times (approximately every 2-4 months) - Check the sample system filter elements and replace them if necessary (Total sulfur only) Check for carbon buildup and leaks in the total sulfur quartz tube; Replace the quartz tube if necessary.
2. Every six months
3. Remove and thoroughly clean the sample chamber.
4. If necessary, replace the sample chamber rear window, rear window gasket, and opening strip.
