This SFR test chart with a 3:2 aspect ratio is a "simplified" implementation of the standard. For most jobs, we recommend enhancing or expanding charts with additional edges for measuring performance near image boundaries, as well as hyperbolic wedges and color blocks (where technology allows). These charts remain fully compliant with the standards.
The Imatest standard ISO 12233:2014 E-SFR plot is very similar to the low contrast E-SFR plot shown in Section 6.1 and Appendix C of the ISO standard document, with some differences, all of which fully comply with the ISO standard
Use 20 patch OECF grayscale mode * instead of 16 patch versions.
The focal pattern at the center of the square is rectangular (to increase MTF measurement area) and designed to reduce interference with automatic edge detection.
There are four registration marks instead of three for automatic area detection. (Projection transformation requires four features.)
The additional marker above the alignment mark in the lower left corner is used to detect the direction of the chart.
All SineImage ISO 12233:2014 E-SFR charts fully comply with ISO standards. The Imatest eSFR ISO module provides highly automated support for new charts.
The SineImage ISO 12233:2014 E-SFR chart is an implementation of the low contrast edge SFR (E-SFR) test chart described in Section 6.1 and Appendix C of the ISO standard document. There are three versions of these charts:
Standard: Basic type, no additional measurement function
Enhancement: Additional squares, wedges, and colored patterns when printed using color enabled technology
Expansion: Similar to the enhanced version, but with an aspect ratio of 16:9, suitable for HDTV and cinemas
We currently offer these chart inkjet formats, and the enhanced version can be used for photo printing. All SineImage ISO 12233:2014 E-SFR charts fully comply with ISO standards. The Imatest eSFR ISO module provides highly automated support for new charts.
