Detection Principle
Under the condition of pH ≤ 2, the oil substances in the sample are extracted by n-hexane. The extract is dehydrated by anhydrous sodium sulfate and then adsorbed by magnesium silicate to remove polar substances such as animal and plant oils. The absorbance is measured in the ultraviolet region, and the petroleum content and absorbance value conform to Lambert Beer's law, thus quantitatively analyzing the petroleum content in water
