The digital display directly shows the dissolved oxygen mg/L value of the tested water sample, which can be tested directly in the field. This instrument can be used in aquaculture farms, water treatment plants, sewage treatment, environmental protection monitoring, and research institutes to meet the requirements for measuring dissolved oxygen in water samples.

The oxygen electrode (also known as the oxygen sensitive membrane electrode) consists of two metal electrodes (designed as Ag AgCl, Pt) in contact with a supporting electrolyte (the electrolyte used in this instrument is 0.5mol/L KCl) and a selective thin film (also known as the oxygen membrane).

Oxygen membranes can only pass through oxygen and other gases, and cannot pass through water and soluble substances. The oxygen passing through the oxygen membrane is reduced on the electrode, generating a weak diffusion current, which is proportional to the dissolved oxygen content in the water sample at a certain temperature. Quantitatively measuring this diffusion current can determine the mg/L value of dissolved oxygen in the water sample.
