Optical Chopper
The main function of an optical chopper is to modulate continuous light into light with a fixed frequency, while outputting the modulation frequency. Usually used in conjunction with lock-in amplifiers. Optical chopper generally consists of the following components: control unit, chopper device, chopper plate, and connecting wires.

The C-955 is equipped with a five digit LED digital display, which can directly input the chopping frequency required by the customer in digital form through the front end of the control panel through the controller. In addition, the RS-232 bidirectional port equipped on the C-955 allows users to set the resolution of the required chopping frequency to 0.001Hz, while also being able to understand the condition of the chopper during use.
The C-955 adopts a phase-locked loop control system, which enables the chopping frequency to synchronize with the external clock provided by the user within the range of 4Hz to 5KHz. At this point, the controller can be used to obtain the frequency of the external clock.
The C-955 chopper head is controlled by a 10 turn potentiometer, where the blades are precisely closed to protect the chopper head from accidental danger. There are two apertures and two components (30 apertures and 3 apertures) on the chopper head, which are respectively used for the high-frequency and low-frequency parts. The hole diameter is 15mm, and the hole width is 4.5mm (30 holes) and 15mm (3 holes).
The small square shaped hole with a side length of 4.75 inches and a depth of two inches makes it easy to match with the optical bracket. Two # 8-32 assembly holes allow the height of the holes to be as low as 0.75 inches. When used in conjunction with a 1/2 inch support rod, the height can reach up to 13 inches.
