The multifunctional CALIPRI C4x series allows multiple detection tasks (measurement modules) to be combined into one measurement device. If you combine the wheel profile module, brake disc module, wheel diameter module, and inter wheel inner distance module, for example, you will obtain a measuring device for evaluating the entire wheelset. On the contrary, CALIPRI Prime places a clear emphasis on wheel profile measurement and thus replaces traditional mechanical gauges.

CALIPRI Prime is based on the commonly known laser cutting method. At this point, you use a camera/laser unit in the measuring device to record the rim profile of your wheelset. No longer need to closely adhere to the contour of the wheel. The software of the detection device then evaluates the rim height, thickness, and qR size according to the pre-defined limit dimensions as required. The measurement results are displayed on the screen and can be securely transmitted through a USB cable. Provide different auxiliary functions in the form of plugins, such as colored markings for exceeding limit values or upgrades for measuring tread wear, rolling edges, and wheel width.

CALIPRI Prime guarantees that the measured values are accurate to micrometers when detecting wheel flange wear, and the measurement results are independent of the user. Tilting close or reading measurement values incorrectly (such as when using contour wear gauges or templates) has become a thing of the past. The lightweight measuring device is fixed to the waist belt with a clip, allowing for comfortable measurement at any time in the pit or on the track. According to the regulations of your respective factories, your employees can handwrite the measurement data into the inspection report as usual or transmit it through a tamper proof USB cable.

The "Wheel Profile" module covers the measurement of the entire cross-section of the wheel profile of rail vehicles in the heavy rail and light rail fields. In addition to the basic rim dimensions (height, thickness, qR size), wheel width, tread wear, and rolling can also be measured. When measuring, you only need to guide the sensor above the measuring object with your hand. There is no need to maintain precise distance and angle with the wheel profile, as our patented CALIPRI process can automatically compensate for any twisting and tilting.

By using the "Tire Thickness" module, in addition to evaluating the wheel profile, you can also measure the thickness of mainstream tire types (heavy rail and light rail). To this end, a matching small magnetic auxiliary gauge is installed on the inner or outer end face or on the limit dimension groove according to the characteristics of the wheel. Suggestion: With the known inner diameter of the wheel rim, the rolling circle diameter can also be calculated by the thickness of the wheel rim.
