The liquid impact sampler is made entirely of glass,It consists of a liquid impact bottle (intake elbow, nozzle, liquid bottle, exhaust pipe), a main unit, and a timer.
Liquid impact bottleThe structure consists of a 90 degree curved intake pipe and an outer bottle for holding the sampled liquid. The bend at the upper part of the intake pipe simulates the obstruction of aerosol particles by the human upper respiratory tract. There is a microporous nozzle at the end of the pipe, which accelerates the airflow to reach the speed of sound. The jet airflow is used to collect microbial particles in the air into the liquid sampling medium. Due to the adhesiveness of liquids, microbial particles are captured.
The liquid impact sampler is particularly suitable for concentration determination in experimental air microbiology. Aerosol sampling is commonly used in experiments such as the dosage of microbial aerosols for animal infections, the recovery rate of microbial aerosol survival, the study of aerosol tracers, the dosage of human aerosol immunity, the sterilization effect of air disinfectants and sterilizers, and the retention effect of filter materials and filters.
