MicroLog CSBy utilizing innovative technology, soil moisture content, conductivity, and temperature can be monitored simultaneously. There are two types of stainless steel probes, CS650 is a 30cm probe and CS655 is a 12cm probe. The probe circuit board is sealed inside an epoxy resin casing. Insulated cable connects the circuit board and data acquisition.

Two characteristics:

1)Accurate measurement of soil moisture content is not required when soil conductivity is ≤ 3 dS/m (CS650) or ≤ 8 dS/m (CS655).

2)Larger volume samples have smaller errors.

3)Can correct the effects on soil texture and conductivity.

4)Can measure various types of soil.

5)Multi functional sensor that can simultaneously measure dielectric constant, conductivity, and soil temperature.

Three principles

The device adopts the TDR principle, and CS650 and CS655 convert these raw values into dielectric constant, volumetric water content, and conductivity by measuring signal propagation time, signal attenuation, and temperature; The measurement signal attenuation is used to correct and reduce the impact of reflection detection. This reduced impact correction can accurately measure soil moisture content in soil conductivity ≤ 3 dS/m (CS650) or ≤ 8 dS/m (CS655) without the need for special soil calibration. Soil conductivity can also be measured by measuring signal attenuation; The thermistor is embedded in the epoxy resin of the probe circuit board to measure temperature, and the horizontally installed sensor can accurately measure soil temperature at the same depth as measuring moisture content.
