The latest generation of optical oximeters, with non-invasive measurement throughout the entire process, can be used for measuring pulse oximetry in small animals under conscious and free movement conditions. It is widely used in cardiovascular research, diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease and other fields.
Blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) is the percentage of oxygenated hemoglobin in the blood that is bound by oxygen to the total available hemoglobin volume, which is the concentration of blood oxygen in the blood. It is an important physiological parameter of the respiratory cycle. Blood oxygen saturation can reflect the health level of the animal's respiratory system and cardiovascular system, playing an important role in clinical animal disease prevention and diagnosis. It also has a wide range of applications in the study of heart, lung, blood, and vascular diseases or drug testing.
MouseOx ® The Plus pulse oximeter only requires one probe to monitor multiple parameters, with multiple types of sensors suitable for newborn rats to adult rats. It also has a magnetic resonance compatible sensor that provides monitoring of physiological indicators of small animals during magnetic resonance imaging. For the measurement of physiological parameters of small and large rats in a awake state, it is equipped with a professional awake activity cage, a rotating bracket and lever arm, a low torque slip ring, a low stress environment, and software with a dedicated awake mode, including enhanced filters and control algorithms, allowing the instrument to more accurately monitor the heart rate and saturation (Sp02) of small animals in a awake activity state Respiratory rate, respiratory amplitude, and pulse amplitude, as well as providing subject activity measurements, are beneficial for providing more accurate data. At the same time, a multi-channel data collector can be selected to monitor up to 8-16 animals simultaneously. Equipped with professional software, all physiological parameters of small animals can be displayed on the software. It can also be selected as an 8-channel data collector with a temperature signal monitoring interface. Combined with the software's temperature module, it allows researchers to connect temperature sensors to monitor the body temperature of small animals.
The software has standard mode and advanced mode, which can set parameter upper and lower limit alarms for monitoring abnormal physiological parameters of animals. The advanced mode can observe physiological parameter data waveforms in real time on the monitoring page. The software supports real-time data monitoring, data regression and export, and can observe and monitor animals for a long time.
All measurements are completed through a non-invasive sensor, which is accurate, convenient, and efficient.
Model: MouseOx Brand: Starr is currently testing mice under anesthesia
Advantages and Characteristics:
The traditional method for detecting blood oxygen saturation is to first collect blood, then use a blood gas analyzer for electrochemical analysis to measure the partial pressure of oxygen (PO2), and then calculate the blood oxygen concentration. This method is cumbersome, requires professional operation, and cannot be continuously tested. The non-invasive blood oxygen adopts PPG technology, which mainly detects the concentration changes of Hb and HbO2. It has a fast time response, can achieve dynamic real-time monitoring, is smaller in size, and the entire system is easy to move and clinically monitor. The two have a good linear relationship.
MouseOx ® The Plus pulse oximeter is the latest generation of optical oximeters, which uses non-invasive measurement throughout the entire process. Compared with traditional invasive measurement methods, it has high accuracy, good repeatability, and stability. With just one probe, it can monitor various parameters including pulse oximetry, and can monitor conscious animals under normal physiological activity.
- Non invasive blood oxygen measurement for mice, neonatal rats, and rats, monitoring heart rate range of 90~900 BPM
- It can non invasively measure up to 7 physiological parameters: pulse oximetry, heart rate, pulse frequency, pulse amplitude, respiratory rate, respiratory amplitude, and body temperature.
- The sensor positions can be selected based on the application and needs of the experiment, including sensors for the feet, thighs, neck, and throat
- Using photoelectric sensing technology to measure principles, it is suitable for measuring animal blood pressure in anesthesia, wakefulness, and MRI environments
- High throughput design, capable of monitoring up to 16 animals at once
- Output raw pulse waveform, which can be input into other data acquisition systems for data analysis
- Parameter alarm function. Set alarms while monitoring vital signs to ensure the safety of subjects
- There are two communication methods available, which can export data through a USB flash drive or connect to a computer for real-time control and data transmission
- Can be continuously monitored and repeatedly tested, with high accuracy, good repeatability and stability
