The NetEngine40E series full-service router (hereinafter referred to as NE40E) is a high-end network product launched by Huawei. It is mainly used in the core nodes of enterprise wide area networks, large enterprise access nodes, campus interconnection&aggregation nodes, and other edge positions of various large IDC networks. It is paired with the NE5000E backbone router and NE20E aggregation router products to form a structurally complete and hierarchically clear IP network solution.
NE40E is based on the CLOS distributed multi-level switching architecture, using distributed hardware forwarding and non blocking switching technology, with good line speed forwarding performance, excellent scalability, perfect QoS mechanism, and powerful business processing capabilities. The NE40E is based on the latest expandable 2T platform, providing up to 48 10GE ports per slot, compatible with existing Ethernet cards, and maximizing customer investment protection. NE40E has virtualization capability. NE40E has strong aggregation access capability and, with rich feature support, can flexibly deploy L2VPN L3VPN、 Multicast, multicast VPN, MPLS TE, QoS, etc., to achieve reliable carrying of user services; Support rich value-added service features, such as GRE tunnel, IPSec secure tunnel, NetStream, etc; Meanwhile, NE40E fully supports IPv6, enabling a smooth transition from IPv4 to IPv6. Therefore, NE40E can be flexibly applied at the edge and core of IP/MPLS networks, simplifying network structure, providing rich business types and reliable service quality. It is an important driving force for the development of IP/MPLS bearer networks towards broadband, security, business, and intelligence.
