Detection Principle

As shown in the figure,The Intros wire rope detector adopts the principles of permanent magnet and leakage magnet. When testing, first use a set of permanent magnets to saturate the steel wire rope. Then, the magnetic head wraps around the steel wire rope and runs at a relatively constant speed. Any defects in the steel wire rope, such as breakage, wear, rust, etc., can cause changes in magnetic leakage and flux, which are then captured by Hall sensors and converted into electrical signals, outputting intuitive analog signals

Detection parameters

according to the standardsAS Ding M E15TI-01 "Electromagnetic Testing Method for Ferromagnetic Steel Wire Rope" stipulates that steel wire rope testing mainly tests two parameters:

LMA (Metal Cross Sectional Area Loss): focuses on examining the degree of metal area loss in the steel wire rope. By comparing the detection position with the reference position (i.e. the position with the largest metal cross-sectional area in the steel wire rope), a relative measurement value is obtained in%. The larger the value, the more severe the metal defect.

LF (local damage): focuses on examining discontinuities in the steel wire rope, such as broken wires, severe corrosion pits, etc. At the location of the damage, a leakage magnetic field is formed, and a voltage signal is output in mv. The value of this signal is related to the length of the fracture and the degree of damage.

After analysis, there is one broken wire at this location.
