The manufacturing size of the cardboard box is the cutting size during the box making process. The manufacturing dimensions are measured based on the pressure line on the unfolded box blank. The pressure roller on the slitting machine presses out a groove at the pressure line position, and the pressure line is the centerline of this groove. The distance between the two pressure lines is the manufacturing size. Converting manufacturing dimensions to inner and outer diameter dimensions can be done quickly through Table 2, but they also have their own measurement methods.

There are two types of corrugated cardboard boxes in the manufacturing process: single splicing and double splicing

Single splicing refers to forming a box on one page, usually used for cardboard boxes with smaller perimeter; Double splicing, also known as two page box, is a type of cardboard box that has a large circumference and must be pieced together with two pieces of raw material. However, sometimes cardboard box factories use two pieces to piece together a smaller cardboard box in order to utilize the leftover materials cut during the production process, and sometimes even use four pieces. Compared to the one page box, the two page box has an additional joint, so there are some slight differences in the area calculation between the two.

Connectors and rewinding

The manufacturing dimensions of cardboard box joints are determined based on the number of corrugated layers and production process level. Single corrugated cardboard is 35-40mm, double corrugated cardboard is 45-50mm, and three corrugated cardboard is 50mm.

When calculating the unfolded area of the cardboard box, it is necessary to consider the loss of rewinding during the manufacturing process. The size of the rewinding is determined based on the number of layers of cardboard, generally ranging from 20 to 40mm.

For the convenience of calculation in practical work, the rule of adding "8" and "4" is uniformly adopted, that is, the total sum of the joint and the return wire in the horizontal direction is set to 8cm, and the total sum of the return wire in the vertical direction is set to 4cm.
