PROFOMETER 5 can easily locate steel bars, detect the thickness of concrete protective layer and steel bar diameter, with high accuracy.
PROFOMETER 5 steel reinforcement protection layer tester is a lightweight instrument that uses electromagnetic pulse method for non-destructive testing.
There are two models of PROFOMETER 5: S-type and Scanlog type.
S-type: The S-type is the basic model and has the following functions:
Position of steel bars
Detecting the thickness of the concrete protective layer
Store individual detection data and calculate evaluation statistics
Detecting the diameter of steel bars
There are multiple methods to help locate:
Current value: Distance from the surface of the steel bar to the surface of the concrete
Flow signal strip: The movement of the signal strip can indicate whether the probe is close to the steel bar
Sound: The probe will make a sound when passing through the steel bar axis backwards
Sound change: The closer the probe is to the steel bar, the louder the sound
Signal value: distance from probe to steel bar
Measuring with Statistics function
The minimum thickness of the protective layer measured is stored in Memo.
Press the button to obtain the statistical values of the previous stored values.

Accurately mark the axial position of the steel bars on the surface of the concrete. Measure the spacing between steel bars and input it into the instrument.
Then the instrument will automatically calculate the diameter of the steel bar and display it.
