Rapid testing of tobacco moisture content using low field nuclear magnetic resonance analyzer
Principle of low field nuclear magnetic resonance detection:
Low field nuclear magnetic resonance technology has been applied to the determination of moisture in wood, food, tobacco, and other materials. The amplitude of nuclear magnetic resonance signals is proportional to the content of H protons, and H protons in different environments or states have different relaxation times. The H proton in the solid phase relaxes rapidly, while the H proton in water relaxes slowly. An appropriate waiting time can be set to ensure that the amplitude of the collected nuclear magnetic resonance signal reflects the liquid-phase water H proton in the system, thereby establishing a relationship between amplitude and water content.
The significance of low field nuclear magnetic resonance method in detecting tobacco moisture:
1. The low field nuclear magnetic resonance method has a fast measurement speed, and can complete the testing of a sample within 1-2 minutes through NMR method, reflecting real-time moisture content information. In the actual tobacco processing production line, mastering the real-time moisture content data of the currently processed tobacco leaves or cut tobacco can help judge the quality of the cut tobacco and take corresponding measures in a timely manner to further improve the quality of the sample;
2. NMR non-destructive testing does not involve mechanical or heating treatment during the testing process, and the tested samples can continue to be used for other analyses;
3. The low field nuclear magnetic resonance testing process is independent of the shape and color of the sample, and is expected to be used to analyze the moisture distribution at different positions during the storage of tobacco in a whole box, which cannot be achieved by other methods.
