The rotary wing steam flowmeter is a specialized instrument for measuring steam flow, with a wide range of flow measurement. It can accurately measure the cumulative flow of superheated steam and saturated steam. The total weight passing through this meter can be directly read through the counter dial, and pulse signals can also be output. It can be connected to a secondary meter for remote transmission. There are four calibers and 12 specifications of the flowmeter, including Φ 25, Φ 50, Φ 80, and Φ 100. Due to its low price, it can achieve low-cost steam flow measurement and management. Suitable for measuring steam flow per unit in various industries such as petroleum, chemical, light industry, metallurgy, textile, food, and medicine.

Structure and Working Principle



The rotary turbine steam flowmeter mainly consists of three parts: the main body, the damping chamber, and the indicator.
When steam enters the flowmeter, most of it is throttled by the orifice plate, while another part enters the diversion pipe hole through the nozzle, forming a steam jet that pushes the rotor installed on the upper part of the rotor shaft, thereby driving the rotor to rotate. Due to the damping chamber being filled with damping fluid, the rotor shaft is subjected to damping, causing the rotor to rotate at a speed that balances its own torque and the braking torque of the damping blades; The rotation of the rotor shaft drives the indicator pointer through the coupling of reduction teeth and magnetic steel, and the actual mass flow rate of steam passing through the flowmeter is directly indicated by the dial.

Installation and usage instructions

1. The rotary turbine steam flowmeter must be installed on a horizontal straight pipe line, with the length of the front pipe line not less than 10DN of the nominal diameter and the length of the rear straight pipe line not less than 5DN of the nominal diameter. The inner diameter of the pipeline must be the same as the nominal diameter of the flow meter. Never install the flowmeter at the lowest point of the pipeline, and the indicator of the flowmeter must be perpendicular to the bottom of the pipeline.
2. The steam flow must follow the direction indicated by the protruding arrow on the flowmeter housing and must not be reversed. For the convenience of reading, when users need to change the direction of the dial, they can unscrew the two M10 × 28 bolts that fasten the indicator, rotate the entire indicator 90 ° or 180 °, and then tighten the bolts to the other two holes. But it is not allowed to reverse move the magnetic steel to avoid loosening and causing calculation errors.
3. Before installation, both sides of the pipeline must be cleaned thoroughly to prevent dirt from entering the flowmeter body and causing blockage.
4. Before operating the flowmeter, it is necessary to open the two water injection plugs at the top of the damping chamber, fill the damping chamber with clean water, and tighten it. Otherwise, excessive rotor speed may cause damage to the entire machine and calculation errors.
5. After all the preparation work is completed, slowly open the front and rear valves. After the work is normal, open the valves to the required degree. It is strictly prohibited to open it too quickly to avoid damage to the rotor after sudden impact.
6. When the flow meter stops working when the ambient temperature is below zero, in order to prevent the water in the damping chamber from freezing, the water in the damping chamber must be discharged from the drainage outlet. If working under severe cold conditions to prevent the freezing of damping water, sufficient insulation layer can be wrapped around the damping chamber body, or antifreeze solution (containing 50% ethylene glycol aqueous solution) can be filled inside the damping chamber.
7. Pressure adjustment: In order to ensure the measurement accuracy when the steam pressure changes, a pressure compensation adjustment mechanism is installed inside the indicator. The scale indication of the pressure adjustment should be consistent with the steam pressure flowing through the shell. If it is not consistent, it must be adjusted to be consistent. Adjustment method (see Figure 4); Open the back cover (2), loosen the back nut (5), rotate the ruler rod (4) to align the pressure indicator mark on the circular dial (3) with the corresponding pressure value on the ruler (1) (consistent with the working pressure value), and then tighten the back nut. As shown in Figure 4, the pressure is adjusted to the 0.8MPa position.
