This valve consists of two water chambers inside. The shut-off port of the diaphragm in the lower chamber is the water passage (the shut-off port opens over a large area close to the diameter of the pipe), and the upper chamber of the diaphragm is the pressure regulating chamber. When the water pump stops working, the shut-off port is closed at a suitable speed of 90% due to the self weight of the valve disc and the pressure in the upper chamber. The remaining 10% is transmitted to the upper chamber through a conduit. As the pressure in the upper chamber increases, the shut-off port slowly closes, and the remaining 10% plays a role in slow closing and noise reduction.
