1、 TC-880 Digital BOD5 Analyzer Product Introduction:

The TC-880 digital BOD5 analyzer is a new type of instrument that uses the principle of air pressure difference method to measure biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5). It can be widely used in environmental monitoring, petrochemical, medical and health, teaching and research departments to monitor water quality. Biochemical oxygen demand refers to the amount of dissolved oxygen consumed or required to decompose organic matter in water through the reproduction and respiration of aerobic microorganisms under specific conditions.

The working principle of TC-880 digital BOD5 analyzer is to place the instrument in a culture chamber, measure a certain volume of water sample according to the pre selected range, pour it into a culture bottle, and continuously stir the culture bottle on the instrument inside the culture chamber. The temperature inside the incubator is controlled at 20 ℃± 1 ℃, and the water sample is incubated for five days after being kept at a constant temperature. Sufficient dissolved oxygen must be ensured in the culture bottle. The organic matter in the sample undergoes biological oxidation, transforming into oxides of nitrogen, carbon, and sulfur. During this process, the only gas that escapes from the water sample, carbon dioxide, is absorbed by sodium hydroxide (or potassium hydroxide). Therefore, the decrease in air pressure in the bottle is equivalent to the amount of dissolved oxygen consumed by microorganisms. Therefore, the BOD5 value of the sample is proportional to the degree of decrease in air pressure in the bottle, and the BOD5 value can be obtained by measuring the change in air pressure. Increasing or decreasing the amount of sample taken can increase or decrease the pressure reduction value. This way, the operator can accurately measure a wide range of BOD5 values without the need for complicated dilution steps. The change in air pressure in the cultivation bottle is detected by a semiconductor pressure sensor, processed by an electronic circuit, and finally displayed digitally as the BOD5 value of the tested sample.
