Product features:
1. Used in conjunction with soil heat flux plates and soil moisture sensors to calculate the total soil heat flux
Technical Description:
TCAV uses an E-type thermocouple, which consists of chromium nickel wire and copper wire connected at the measurement junction. When the measuring end of the thermocouple and the reference end of the thermocouple are at different temperatures, a voltage potential will be generated. The magnitude of voltage potential is related to temperature difference. Therefore, temperature can be determined by measuring the potential difference generated at the junction of two wires. Thermocouple measurement requires a reference temperature measurement. The temperature sensors built into the wiring panels of many of our data loggers typically provide this reference temperature measurement.
