TONiC is an ultra small grating product that can read various 20 μ m spacing grating scales. Is its main feature IN-TRAC? Reference zero position, simply press the button to automatically adjust the phase, which is very unique. The TONiC system includes a reading head, analog or digital interfaces, and linear or circular incremental gratings. The linear grating ruler includes RGSZ lightweight gold-plated grating ruler, RELMZeroMet grating ruler, RSLM stainless steel grating ruler, and RTLC-S self-adhesive steel strip grating ruler. It also provides rail mounted FASTRACKSTLC linear grating system. Circular gratings include RESM stainless steel circular gratings and ultra-high precision REXM circular gratings.
working principle
TONiC adopts Renishaw's latest generation unique optical filtering device, which is similar to the design used by SiGNUM, but with three important improvements. Firstly, the TONiC design has been optimized, resulting in an improved signal-to-noise ratio. This improvement in the optical filtering system, combined with carefully selected high-quality electronic components, allows for a maximum speed of 10m/s for large bandwidth incremental signals, while also having the smallest position jitter (noise) among similar gratings. In fact, other anti noise electronic devices inside the TONiC interface further enhance the anti noise function of high-resolution TONiC, with a jitter level of only 0.51nm RMS.
The second major improvement is the development of a fully integrated reference zero position. Now, the zero position separation detector is directly embedded in the center of the incremental code track linear photodiode array, in order to avoid torsional phase loss as much as possible.
The third improvement of TONiC is the complete integration of advanced dynamic signal conditioning functions into the reading head, which means that thoroughly processed signals can be obtained directly from the reading head. This signal is optimized through automatic gain control and automatic bias control functions to achieve very low SDE (± 30nm).
