-Instrument Description
The UVAS eco sc UV absorption online analyzer is a COD online monitoring instrument designed for measuring dissolved organic matter in water (drinking water/surface water/sewage). It can be directly immersed in water to measure dissolved organic matter in water that absorbs 254nm ultraviolet light, and the measurement results are expressed using the "special absorption coefficient", SAC254. The unique dual beam structure of the COD online monitoring probe can effectively eliminate the interference of factors such as turbidity, power supply fluctuations, and component aging in the sample, thereby improving measurement accuracy. The measurement results can be displayed in the form of graphics or numbers. This COD online monitoring device has the characteristics of automatic cleaning and no need for chemical reagents, and is the choice for controlling water treatment process parameters under suitable conditions.
-Typical applications
This COD online monitor can be used for small and medium-sized sewage treatment plants that need to monitor the trend of organic matter concentration, continuously monitoring dissolved organic pollutants in water.
Monitoring the water quality at the inlet and outlet of sewage treatment plants, providing users with continuous and stable measurement data at low operating costs.
During the sewage treatment process, it is necessary to control the balance between organic load, aeration rate, and nutrients. Using UVAS eco sc
The UV absorption online analyzer can provide continuous trends of organic matter changes, which can help operators optimize the process
-Instrument features
The COD online monitoring instrument has low operating costs, with only the sealing ring and scraper being consumable components
UVAS's economical products have lower prices
Stainless steel material, sturdy and durable
Integrated with automatic blade cleaning function, even under harsh application conditions, the required maintenance is still low, without the need for additional installation and maintenance (such as compressors)

-Working principle
Organic compounds containing conjugated double bonds or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons absorb ultraviolet light when dissolved in water. Therefore, by measuring the degree of absorption of these organic compounds by 254nm ultraviolet light, we can evaluate the degree of pollution caused by these organic compounds in water. The "special absorption coefficient", SAC254, is a physical quantity used to measure the total amount of organic pollutants in water. The COD online monitoring instrument consists of a controller and a measuring probe. When the measuring probe is working, it needs to be immersed in water or extracted and flowed through a narrow slit. When the light emitted by the light source in the probe passes through the slit, some of the light is absorbed by the sample flowing in the slit, while the other light passes through the sample and reaches the chopper on the other side of the probe, where it is split into two. 50% of the light is detected by the sample detector, and the other 50% is detected by the reference detector. This COD online monitor can provide a "special absorption coefficient", SAC254, by comparing the signals of two detectors.
