Ultra high sensitivity analysis of mercury in the air using a newly developed optical system
WA-5A is a gas mercury analyzer that can be connected to an automatic sampler (TC-WA) specifically designed for mercury collection tubes. On the basis of the double mercury amalgam method, the instrument design has been updated. The WA-5A is not only equipped with high-performance optional configurations for measuring mercury in different valence states in ambient air and various gases (LPG/LNG, flue gas, etc.), but also uses a newly developed optical system as standard configuration to prevent gas sample loss. The instrument can automatically set the measurement range and achieve measurement from low concentration to high concentration.
FDFDFD'>The sample gas is collected into a mercury collection tube, which is then placed into the heating furnace of WA-5A for measurement. Mercury evaporated due to high temperature heating is purified and dehumidified. Then, mercury is collected as a gold amalgam in a collection tube for further purification. The collection tube is reheated, releasing atomic mercury, and the mercury concentration is measured by atomic absorption spectroscopy.In addition, the sample can be directly injected using an airtight syringe.
