1. XD rotary vane vacuum pumps are single-stage oil sealed rotary vane vacuum pumps, which are the basic equipment for obtaining vacuum. The working principle is shown in Figure 1.
2. The suction port of the XD rotary vane vacuum pump is equipped with a coarse filter made of metal wire mesh. It can prevent solid foreign dust particles from being sucked into the pump chamber. An exhaust transition device with efficient oil and gas separation effect is installed inside the oil separator. When the pump is stopped, the suction valve built into the suction port isolates the pump from the pumped system, preventing the pump oil from returning to the pumped system. The pump is cooled by air. All pumps are driven by directly connected electric motors through elastic couplings.
1. XD rotary vane vacuum pump is suitable for vacuum pumping in closed systems. Such as vacuum packaging, vacuum forming, and vacuum suction.
2. Inlet pressure range: 100Pa~100000 Pa, beyond this range, oil mist will be generated at the exhaust port of the working vacuum pump. The working environment temperature and suction gas temperature of XD rotary vane vacuum pump should be between 5 ℃ and 40 ℃.
3. XD rotary vane vacuum pump cannot extract water or other liquids. Explosive, flammable, highly oxygenated, and corrosive gases cannot be extracted.
4. Generally supplied motors are not explosion-proof. If explosion-proof or other special requirements are required, the motor must comply with relevant standards.

4.1 Installation
XD rotary vane vacuum pump should be placed horizontally. Similar to the XD rotary vane vacuum pump, there is almost no vibration during operation and it is generally not fixed. There are metric screw holes on the bottom damping pad of the pump to fix the pump. Do not push or pull the pump on the ground to avoid damaging the damping pad. To ensure good cooling of the XD rotary vane vacuum pump, the cooling air inlet and outlet of the pump should be at least 30cm away from surrounding objects. For ease of maintenance, it is recommended to leave a gap of 0.4m in front of the pump inlet and outlet. For the convenience of oil discharge, a base with an oil drain pan can be installed. The shipped pump does not come with oil. After installation, slowly inject the specified vacuum pump oil (see Maintenance 5.1) through the oil filling port to 3/4 of the oil window height.
4.2 XD type vacuum pump electrical connection
Electrical wiring must be carried out by professional electricians. Appropriate motor overload protection devices should be used. The XD type rotary vane vacuum pump with single-phase 220V 50HZ must operate within a voltage range of 220V ± 10%. If the voltage is lower than 220V, an AC power stabilizer must be equipped. Do not work under low and high voltage for a long time to avoid damaging the motor. After the wiring of the three-phase asynchronous motor is completed, the rotation direction of the motor must be checked. The correct rotation direction of the motor is counterclockwise when viewed from the fan end at the rear of the motor. When checking the rotation direction, the suction port should be opened or completely covered with a rubber plate (with a thickness of 4mm or more), and the power should be turned on for 2-3 seconds. If the rotation direction is correct, a strong suction force will be felt at the suction port or the rubber plate will be tightly sucked in. If reversed, swap any two of the three power lines.
Note: If the pump is operated incorrectly for a long time, it will be damaged.
4.3 XD type vacuum pump system connection
The size of the intake pipe should not be smaller than the size of the intake port and should be as short as possible. Use Loctite 515 or Teflon tape for vacuum sealing at threaded connections. If the extracted gas contains dust impurities, a dust filter must be installed at the inlet end of the pump. If necessary, the exhaust pipe can be connected and tilted downwards.
4.4 XD type vacuum pump start-up
After determining the oil level, the XD rotary vane vacuum pump can be started. After the first start-up and each change in wiring, the rotation direction must be checked before starting the vacuum pump.
4.5 XD type vacuum pump operation
Before normal operation, it is advisable to close the intake valve and allow the XD rotary vane vacuum pump to operate at maximum pressure for more than 15 minutes, which can effectively remove water vapor from the gas. The electric motor should not be started frequently (preferably less than 6 times/hour). It is recommended to install an electromagnetic valve on the pump inlet pipe during intermittent cycle operation. During non working stages, the electromagnetic valve should be closed to allow the pump to operate at its maximum pressure state. This way, the electric motor consumes less power but can effectively protect the vacuum pump.
Note: 1. During normal operation, the surface temperature of the pump cover and other areas will exceed 70 ℃. Do not touch them with your hands. 2. Do not add oil while the pump is running.
4.6 XD type vacuum pump ultimate pressure measurement
The ultimate pressure should be measured directly at the pump suction port using a compression vacuum gauge. The pump should be used for the first time, after long-term storage, and after replacing with new oil. The inlet should be closed and the pump should be operated for at least 1 hour to reach the working temperature and the pump oil should be fully degassed before measuring the ultimate pressure.

5.1 Vacuum pump oil
XD rotary vane vacuum pumps should generally use vacuum pump oil that complies with the SH0528-92 standard. Vacuum pump oil with ISO~VG100 viscosity grade when the ambient temperature is between 10 ℃ and 40 ℃. Use ISO~VG32 viscosity grade vacuum pump oil when the ambient temperature is between 0 ℃ and 10 ℃. When the vacuum pump is running, it must be ensured that the oil level is at 1/2-4/5 of the oil window height. Regularly check the oil level and contamination (recommended once a week). If the oil level is too low, stop the pump and add suitable vacuum pump oil to 4/5 of the oil window height. If the oil is contaminated, it will turn black, emulsify, or thicken, and should be replaced in a timely manner.
5.2XD rotary vane vacuum pump replacement of vacuum pump oil and oil filter
It is recommended to change the oil after the pump has been working for 150 hours for the first time. Change the oil every 500 hours of work in the future. At the same time as changing the oil, the oil filter should be replaced. If the oil becomes black, emulsified, or thickened due to contamination, it should be replaced in a timely manner. And clean the pump before adding new oil.
Cleaning and oil change steps:
1. Stop the XD rotary vane vacuum pump and drain the hot oil.
2. Rotate the XD rotary vane vacuum pump with the oil drain plug and run for 5-10 seconds.
3. Drain the oil completely.
4. Inject cleaning oil (No. 32 ordinary mechanical oil) to 3/4 of the height of the oil window.
5. Run the XD rotary vane vacuum pump for 5-10 minutes.
6. Stop the XD rotary vane vacuum pump and drain the oil. If the oil still cannot meet the requirements, repeat steps 4 and 5.
7. Rotate the drain plug and run 5-10 notes.
8. Drain the oil completely.
9. Inject the specified new vacuum pump oil.
5.3XD rotary vane vacuum pump replacement exhaust filter
If the pump temperature significantly increases, the motor current reaches or exceeds the rated current, and there is oil smoke generated at the pump exhaust port, the exhaust filter should be checked for blockage. If it is blocked, it should be replaced in a timely manner. An exhaust pressure gauge can be installed at the pump refueling hole to check if the filter is clogged. Replace the exhaust filter when the pressure exceeds 0.6 bar (gauge pressure).

If the pump is not used for a long time, the oil should be drained and the pump should be cleaned, and then the specified new oil should be injected and placed in a dry place.
