The extraction salt package contains pre weighed anhydrous extraction salt, in which anhydrous magnesium sulfate is used to remove water from the sample matrix, and other buffer salts are used to provide suitable pH, ensuring good recovery rates for some alkali sensitive pesticides.
When encountering samples with high water content, buffer salts will undergo exothermic reactions with water, thereby affecting the recovery rate.
