Instrument characteristics
ZX4000 concrete resistivity tester, with no damage or drilling of concrete during testing, can be tested on its surface; Sponge plug sensor is easy to measure; It operates on rechargeable batteries and has a display reading retention function.
The corrosion of steel bars in concrete is caused by an electrochemical effect, which generates an electric current and corrodes the steel bars. Therefore, it is possible to infer whether the steel bars have been corroded by testing the resistance of the concrete. The measured resistivity is measured in ohms. The electrical resistivity of a complete concrete component may vary depending on time and location, so it needs to be combined with other testing methods such as half cell potential method or impact testing method to consider the reliability of the obtained data. Usually, when the electrical resistivity of concrete decreases, the possibility of steel corrosion increases. In actual measurement of concrete resistivity, it is important to note that the testing electrode has good electrical contact with the concrete surface. The sponge plug sensor of RT4000 is used for good electrical contact.
